A torsional/bending damper is a device that absorbs vibrations generated by the engine shaft. It is widely used in automobiles to prevent problems, damage, and losses caused by vibration.

Typically, they are used as pulleys for driving/managing PV belts and also reinforce support components (water pump, steering mechanism, compressor, alternator, etc.).

When the rubber shock absorber element becomes unable to reduce vibration due to wear and tear, it needs to be replaced. In this case, it is necessary to verify that the rubber ring/ring of the shock absorber has not hardened excessively (it should be checked that the age of the rubber does not cause excessive hardening, crystallization, or cracking).
