The continuous improvement in engine functions and motion patterns necessitates significant advancements in the selection and design/project of all hard component materials.

The components of distribution and support controls must meet the following requirements of machine manufacturers, both for constant voltage and automatic voltage applications:

  • Increasingly smaller workspaces
  • High injection pressure
  • High temperature
  • High acceleration
  • Increasing the range of element variations

Therefore, both the actuators (fixed or automatic) and the system reels are required to meet high-quality demands.

The main types of hard parts are:

  • Passive tensioners are fixed because they are blocked once the final pressure is applied to the belt. Once fixed, they cannot adapt to meet different demands and needs. In the absence of control instruments, belt pressure is left to the sensitivity and professionalism of the machine operator. In such cases, the use of a DTM pressure gauge is recommended.
  • Automatic active tensioners come in two types: spring-loaded and hydraulic. When installed, they are dynamic tensioners capable of optimally adapting belt tension to suit all operating modes of the motor.
  • Pulleys are pulleys, with or without stirrups, that ensure the belt travels along the correct bearing. They are crucial because a portion of the acceleration acts on these pulleys during system acceleration.
